the story
Launched in 2026 by Sarah Abtosway, studio.sabtos is a Calgary-based residential interior design studio that creates thoughtful, character-filled homes that feel just as good to live in as they look.
With a certificate in interior decorating and a CIDA-accredited degree in interior design, Sarah brings both artistic intuition and technical expertise to every step of the process. Whether she is curating textiles, refining space planning, or resolving complex construction details on site, her approach bridges fine aesthetic details with professional technical practice.
Sarah's career spans two distinct worlds: high-touch boutique interior design firms and high-volume homebuilding. From boutique firms, she developed a deep appreciation for custom details, fine craftsmanship, and tailoring spaces to reflect individual personality. From her time with homebuilders, she gained a grounding in durability, thoughtful spending, future resale value, and the practicalities of real life.
“It’s the small, quiet details that bring joy to our daily routines. Gathered together, they make all the difference in how a home feels.”
By balancing boutique-level aesthetics with real-world practicality, Sarah ensures every project delivers maximum impact and lasting value. From space planning and custom cabinetry to lighting and material selections, she understands how all the pieces come together to create a home that works beautifully in everyday life.
At studio.sabtos, the goal is never to create a space that simply makes a statement. It is to create a home that feels right, functions effortlessly, and leaves room for life to change. A little character, a lot of thought, and all the right details allow you to spend less time thinking about your home and more time enjoying it.
